Assembly line or ministry, both can be rewarding. They have more in common than we sometimes think.
My dad was one who knew about both. I have a walnut, handmade (every piece), roll-top desk that proves it. When he was making each of the ribs/slats, I said, “Dad, how do keep from giving up?” His response was insightful, “I see what they are going to be.”
Doing the same thing over and over again can be draining. Some might even say boring. Success requires workers who show up and repeat their efforts with passion and precision day after day. They’re the ones who have a clear vision of the desired end result.
As each new day comes, God always shows up. He provides the Vision, the ability, the strength for us to show up. Like dad, as we do each repetitive task, by faith God lets us see what it will be.
By the way, this comes to you from a grateful son seated at a beautiful, walnut desk.
