Divine Interruptions

”Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight. They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?” Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭31‬-‭32‬

Over the years, Easter meals have caused a lot of heartburn! The digestive type isn’t so pleasant, but we sure could use more of the Emmaus Road type.

The ‘eye-opening-encounter’ experienced by these two disciples was more than enlightening; it was inspiring. They were moved from doubt and misunderstandings to belief and confident proclamation. Like them, my understanding is often clouded by questions. Like them, I need my ‘slow-of-heart’ faith to be deepened. Like them, I too need Jesus to teach me all things concerning Himself. And like them, the Bread of Life meets my deepest needs. Know this, if you find yourself like them or me, He longs to ‘break bread’ with you!
