Every Edge Covered

“Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also to the interests of others,” Philippians 2:4.Is it really that important? To Dad it was.Dad was one of those guys who wanted to make sure that whether it was the butter or the jam, it was spread evenly to every edge of his morning toast. And when it came to the Norwegian’s heavenly manna, better known as lefse, the precision of butter spreading and sugar sprinkling became an art form.That’s exactly what made him a great Dad and an effective mentor. He challenged me to see things from someone else’s point of view. What may seem insignificant to me may have great importance to someone else. So to speak, if my ministry is going to be effective, getting the butter to the edges of their concerns is vital.What’s on your plate today? As you look at it from someone else’s point of view, may Gospel’s grace be spread to every edge of your ministry’s ‘toast’?

*As many of know, my dad passed into Glory on August 15, 2010. Though I can no longer talk to him face-to-face or over the phone, I can still hear the echo of his mentoring words. I hope their resounding impact will bless the ears of your heart too.
