Practice… Thinking!
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
Due to our old nature, like me, I imagine you’ve found it pretty easy to dwell on negative, worrisome things and lose your peace. Those worrisome things are way to numerous to list.
I’m so thankful for Paul’s witness to the Philippians. If there ever was a guy, who faced ‘numerous worrisome things’, it was him. Yet, the same Spirit that dwells in us enabled him to DWELL on good things, calming, peace producing things. And He says…
“The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
Practice will not make us perfect. But in this context, it can make us peaceful!
Praying for you!
