Shepherd

“Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah‬ ‭3:15‬

There are many titles given to ministry leaders, but none more meaningful than that of ‘shepherd’. When I hear it said or see it in print, I immediately think of Jesus… selfless care giver, tender, protector, guide, and rescuer of the flock. To Him, and hopefully to us, it was all about His Father’s will and His Father’s flock.

While every ministry title has meaning, it seems to me, the title of shepherd moves me to cry out to the Good Shepherd, “Change my heart, O God, make it ever true. Change my heart, O God, may I be like you!”
