The Lion’s Den
“Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.” Daniel 6:16
I know you all agree… Daniel was a humble, yet bold, young man of faith. Even though he knew a document had been signed that would put him in jeopardy of losing his life, he stood tall by openly knelling in prayer. As was his previous practice, with windows wide open, he prayed and gave thanks to the One True God. This had even earned the respect of the very king who ordered him into the lion’s den… “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.”
Ungodly leaders and citizens are still trying to use deadly threats to quieten the voice of God’s servants. On every turn, there’s the threat of a ‘lion’s den’ punishment… loss of non-profit status, false accusations of hate speech and bigotry, jail time for discrimination, lawsuits, removal of one’s children, etc. Openly standing tall for God’s Word by knelling in prayer assures us of our Savior’s best defense. May this be our Daniel-like practice. Our confidence is this… there isn’t a lion’s mouth He can’t close or claws He can’t clip!
Praying for you!
