A Midnight Thanksgiving

“At midnight I shall rise to give thanks to You, because of Your righteous ordinances.” Psalms 119:62

I’m sure all of us have had some restless or sleepless nights. The Scripture doesn’t tell us what was happening, but it does say the Psalmist got up and gave thanks at midnight. It may have been part of his prayer discipline or it may have been a season of personal turmoil. I don’t know. But if anything is keeping you up, I do know getting up and giving thanks for God’s presence, loving kindnesses, and mercy is better than tossing and turning!
