Big Picture

“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea; that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.” Romans 16:1-2

No doubt, Paul was a ‘big picture’ servant of Christ. Didn’t think only about his own situation, but thought on and promoted the causes others were overseeing… folks like Phoebe, “a helper of many”.

They are all around us too… Bible-based, Christ-honoring, para-church ministries… caring for unwed moms, ministering to the homeless, upholding Truth on secular campuses, promoting righteousness in the public arena, offering spiritual counsel to the broken. Each of them is an extension of us. They need our encouragement, our prayers, our support, our help. They are us!
