COMFORT & COMFORTERS
“For even when we came into Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within. But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus,” 2 Corinthians 7:5,6.
A spiritual leader depressed? Must not have much faith. Probably living in some kind of compromise. Maybe he’s been faking it?
Sadly, when a spiritual leader has been battling conflicts and deprived of rest, Satan uses these and many other false accusations to attack God’s servants. In the midst of it all, just like Paul experienced, fears and anxiety well up within. And the clouds of depression cast their shadows of doubt and discouragement.
Thankfully, always mindful of our every need, Christ sends comforters like Titus to care for His servants. Comforters, who expose Satan’s lies, by speaking Truth. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:18,19.
Praise God, the love of His ‘Son’ dispels the clouds of depression and its fears!
