“Dad, proclaiming with a purpose beats mumbling through the motions of ministry.” This statement came after my father and I had one of our many Monday morning ‘accountability times’. I had fallen into the trap of simply going through the motions of ministry… appeared good, but was ineffective.

I needed the spiritual wake-up call Paul gives… proclaim Jesus, wisely admonish and teach, so you may present those under your spiritual care complete in Christ. By the way, miracles of transformation are not produced by merely going through the motions of ministry. It takes spiritual sweat… by God’s mighty power within us, we labor and strive!
