If Only

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬

A hand-crank spirit duplicator, an oil drip furnace, an outhouse bathroom, a  rural house-church, an every Sunday hauling of metal chairs, an incomplete list of council candidates… over the years, these are just a few of the ministry challenges that caused me to say, “If only we had….”.

Can’t help but think Joseph & Mary had a few ‘if only’ thoughts. But God the Father had a different plan, a divine plan. Maybe this Christmas season you’re struggling with ‘if only’ thoughts. If only we had… a few more young families, better music, a more appealing facility, a better location, a little more help, larger offerings, etc. Don’t beat yourself up, these are normal thoughts. BUT…

Don’t doubt it for a minute, God will do what only He can do! He will supply your every need! HE’S GOD! In faith, with great joy, embrace Him as He embraces you! By the way, in His time God supplied… a manger, a Savior! In His time, over the years, He also supplied copiers, efficient furnaces, in-door plumbing, comfortable seating, several beautiful facilities, and many Godly lay-servants, and abundant offerings! All so I could point souls to a manger, a Savior! Go to your ‘Bethlehem’ with the knowledge, that no matter what, His glory will shine on you and His work. There’s no ‘IF’ in His ‘ONLY’! Praying for you!
