Our Father’s Business

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭34‬

In the early 70s, the chairman of the congregation I was serving said, “Pastor, there’s a cemetery nearby that has gone unattended for years. Several veterans are buried there. Could our church step-up and restore its honor?” There was no ‘hemming or hawing’… “By all means!”, I said.

It was a privilege. Its impact on my soul and the soul of that congregation remain to this day! The sweat of our efforts were pale in comparison to the sacrifices soldiers had made for our freedoms… to worship, to vote, to freely pursue a righteous life.

In all honesty, to a major extent, righteousness has gone unattended in our nation. Evil has been crafted and promoted as a false constitutional right. ‘Hemming and hawing’ are not acceptable. Engaging the culture by standing-up, speaking-up, and stepping- up for righteousness restores honor and exalts a nation. Though Satan and the world would say, “Mind your own business.” The righteous say, “This is my Father’s world! We must be about His business.” By the way, voting is being about His business! Praying for you!
