Peaceful

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Over the years, my ministry mind could really get to spinning… yes, contrary to popular thought, I do have a mind!

Preparatory thoughts for upcoming sermons, concerns about ministry difficulties, unwarranted fears about possible problems, concern for those who are suffering or grieving, visits needing to be made, visions of new adventures, anguish over unfinished tasks, feelings of neglecting my family… alone or added together they can easily become the mind-spinning robbers of our peace!

Perfect peace can never come through our circumstances or performance. Praise God, it rests in the Person of Jesus. The One we trust. The One we ‘stay’ our mind on… perfect peace!
