Serving Servants

”For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭45‬

Each Sunday as I arrived at church, the Spirit of God would remind me, “Michael, you’re here to serve, not be served.” After all these years, you’d think it would be an unnecessary reminder. Just the opposite is true. My old nature has never improved one bit. In fact, at times, it has even gotten more tricky. Why, it has even cloaked itself is ‘false humility’.

Praise God for His amazing grace. He draws us to His cross. “At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light… But drops of grief can ne’er repay the debt of love I owe: Here, Lord, I give my self away ’tis all that I can do.” The shadow of His cross assures us of His forgiveness and unfailing faithfulness. It enables us to serve Him and everyone He brings across my path.
