Good Works

”Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.“ Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭‭14‬

It’s interesting, before we come to faith in Christ, our old nature falsely believes our shabby good deeds will makeup for our sin. Thankfully, for our soul’s sake, the Holy Spirit reveals that’s impossible (Isaiah 64:6). Then, after we’re saved by grace through faith, the Holy Spirit says, “Now, get to work!” (Eph. 2:8-10) Simple, wouldn’t ya think. Not so! That same old nature raises its ugly head out of the grave and says, “Hey, if good works don’t save me, let someone else do them.”

Yep, as spiritual leaders, we got more WORK to do! It will take a Holy Spirit moving of conviction, teaching, and compassion. He wants to speak His Word through you to… convince them they’ve been saved to serve, teach them to identify and use their God given gifts, and finally, help them engage the pressing needs all around them. The results… God will be glorified, needs will be met, and all will rejoice in the fruit of their labors! Praying for you!
