Strength in Waiting

“Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” Is. ‭40‬:‭31‬

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬

Over my 50+ years of ministry, there’s been lots and lots of waiting. In the early years, more times than not, I associated waiting with weariness, not strength. You know… plant the seed of God’s Word then wait; present a vision then wait; put out a call for volunteers then wait; counsel a troubled relationship then wait. My waiting in the flesh brought weariness. I needed to learn how to wait for and on God.

My Creator Redeemer knew my impatient spirit and gave me a dad, who understood the strengthening value of waiting. “Michael, it’s all about the WHO… wait for and on the Lord!” His new strength. His ways to strengthen you. His strengthening endurance. Take courage, take heart in waiting. This inspired me to coin a phrase of my own… “No one ever got a vine-ripe tomato by picking green ones.” Feel free to use it! 😇

Allow God to transform the weariness into the strengthening wonder of waiting for and on God! Praying for you!
