Wisdom

”So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” 1 Kings‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬

Solomon came in through what I call ‘the loving backdoor of God’s amazing grace’. Then God opened a new door of grace with this offer… ”and God said, “Ask what you wish Me to give you.” (1 Kings‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬) And Solomon had the smarts to ask for the gift of a wise, discerning, understanding heart for the sake of caring for God’s people.

”It was pleasing in the sight of the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing.” (1 Kings‬ ‭3‬:‭10)‬ I believe it was more than just wanting to have wisdom. Solomon recognized the people he was to rule were precious to God. He took God’s call to heart. Oh how I need these same convictions… from the most difficult, to the most needy, to the most committed, as I serve and care for God’s precious people. The people He loves. The people He wants to save, nurture, minister to through me, through us!

Praying for us!
