The Gift of Mentors

“For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face,” Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬

Sometimes I’ve been so focused on my own struggles, I’ve failed to recognize how many people God has raised up to struggle on my behalf. Paul poured out his life for the sake of the Colossians, the Laodiceans, and for folks, whom he had never met. He struggled for them in prayer, in letters of encouragement,in face-to-face moments of instruction. His friendship and mentorship was a GIFT from God!

There are Paul-like people God has placed in our lives too. They are ‘gifts’ from God. They’ve prayed for us, loved us, encouraged us, taught us, been patient with us, confronted us, upheld us. Thank God for them and then find a way to let them know you are grateful they’ve ‘struggled’ on your behalf. Finally, be a ‘gift from God’ to someone, by entering into their struggles.

Pray: Jesus, as You have given me the ‘gift’ of mentors, use me as a ‘gift’ in some-else’s struggles. Amen
