Willing

“And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭40‬-‭41‬

At a Rescue Mission I asked, “Can anyone tell me the definition of the word, compassion.” Without hesitation, a resident called out, “Jesus!” It’s not only the best definition; Jesus is the very essence of compassion.

A leper, desperate and broken, approached Jesus in humility and faith. Jesus moved with compassion stretched out His hand with willing, healing compassion! It’s touching!

In life and ministry, I pray, “Lord Jesus, help me to be an approachable servant of Your healing compassion to those You bring across the path of my life’s ministry. Amen.
