A Good Number

“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,…Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.” 1 Timothy 2‬:‭3,8‬

“Two or three are Godly numbers.” That was dad’s response, when a discouraged son told him the prayer meeting was lightly attended. He wasn’t downplaying numbers. He was emphasizing the insight of God’s Word. “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭20‬)

It is good and pleasing in God’s sight, when God’s people gather in prayer. Encouraging one another to lift holy hands in a spirit of unity and peace is God’s will. As in all of ministry, remembering the insights of God’s Word encourages to keep ‘lifting’. Big numbers don’t make prayer powerful. God does… whether it’s few or many! Praying for you!
