Your Seat at the Table!

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.” Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭5‬

It’s hard to feel comfortable, when you’re surrounded by your adversaries. If you’ve ever been asked to address a group hostile to your convictions, you know exactly what I mean.

In all truth, every day in one way or another, the Lord has a prepared place for us to live out our calling. Because we live in a fallen world, it’s no surprise our place at the table of service is surrounded by adversaries of the Gospel. They are numerous and wherever Jesus is proclaimed they are there… in the public square, in the church, and sadly, at times, in our own families. They are becoming more loud, aggressive, and threatening.

We may be surrounded, but we aren’t alone. The Good Shepherd is present and lovingly caring for us. The oil of His Spirit’s anointing is flowing over us, in us, and overflowing through us. He would have us claim what He told His disciples, “But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.” Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭19‬

Praying for you to stand confident, faithful, and loving.
