Contending

“Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.” Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬

Shepherding’s ministry has privileged us to experience fellowship-in-Christ, with believers from several evangelical denominations. Each time we hear our common salvation being shared our hearts are lifted and our faith strengthened. Our oneness in the Gospel is a sacred treasure.

A treasure embodied in a Person and His finished work. A treasure we proclaim. And one we earnestly contend for… it’s the source and foundation of our faith. Then and now, Satan seeks to undermine, water down, twist, compromise, add to, destroy the Gospel of Christ. The necessity of Jude’s appeal was heeded and today we are the beneficiaries. As we do the same, this ‘once for all Gospel’ will continue to be handed down to the saints, until Christ returns.
