Advantage

“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” John‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬

One of my dearest friends said to me, “Michael, your greatest strength is your ineptness.” You may be thinking, “You must be hard up for friends.” Nope, I knew exactly what he meant. From my first day in ministry to this very day, God has keenly made me aware of my limitations. I’ve readily sought help… God’s help. The Helper’s indwelling presence and infilling has been my advantage. Support He has also enhanced through the helping-hands of Spirit-filled lay-men and women

I’m sure it was hard for the disciples to hear Jesus say the words ‘I go away’. However, it truly was to their advantage. As He always does, He kept His promise. Pentecost proved what He said was true! The Holy Spirit came upon them, filled them, instructed them, empowered them, comforted them, directed them, corrected them… what an amazing advantage!

Daily He gives us a ‘leg up’ on the enemy… a Divine advantage.
