Bendiction

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.” 2 Cor.13‬:‭14‬

Any blessing given in my name, authority, or means would be empty. However, bestowing a benediction in the Name of the Triune God is powerful. It is grounded in His deity and the authority of His inerrant Word. It is an awesome privilege and responsibility entrusted to under-shepherds of His flock.

The benediction of 2 Corinthians 13:14, as well as others recorded in Scripture, was never intended to be a mere closing phrase to a service. Rather God ordained it to be a divine blessing bestowed in love and received in faith.

The mind of the old-man hears the benediction and thinks, “Service is almost over.” However, the new-man in Christ should hear the benediction and believe, “Unworthy as we are, the Triune God desires to bless our souls with His grace, love, and fellowship. Praise be to His Name.” If you haven’t lately, this Trinity Sunday may be an opportune time to remind them of this truth.

Praying for you!
