Available

“If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” Matt. ‭21‬:‭3“Are you available?” A “Yes.” to that question is usually connected to a request. “Great, I could sure use your help.” When you love the person making the request, it’s not a burden. It is a joy.

On Palm Sunday, a couple of disciples and a donkey’s owner experienced that joy. On Christ’s way to the cross, as He was about to triumphantly enter Jerusalem, He had a request. It came with instructions, challenging instructions. It is heartwarming to witness the immediate obedience and surrender of the disciples and a donkey’s owner. The very same surrender and obedience they had witnessed in their Heavenly Father and His Son.

Holy Week begins and ends with obedient surrender. Hebrews 12:2 states it perfectly, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” By His grace, it is a joy to follow in His steps.

Praying for you.
