He’s Risen!

“For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.” John‬ ‭20‬:‭9‬

When I’m struggling with this troubling thought, “God can use someone like me?”, Scriptures like John 20:9 greatly comfort and encourage me. Here’s the resurrection scene… the women had told Peter and John about the empty tomb. Then the two of them had a foot race to the see for themselves. John won, but held back. Peter came and entered. And John later writes… they hadn’t fully understood the Scripture that Jesus must rise.

Two men saved, selected, schooled, and sent by Jesus. Yet two men, who were struggling to understand. Two men, who give me hope. Two men, who went home and were later commissioned to proclaim the crucified and risen Christ from that day forward.

May the witness of God’s work, in the lives of Peter and John, resurrect and strengthen His Call in your life to proclaim the Crucified, Risen, and Coming Again Lord Jesus Christ!
