DIVINE HEARTBEATS
“SO, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” Colossians 3:12-14
Chosen… holy… beloved, those are amazing descriptive words of a follower of Christ. And when I think about our Calling, as leaders, they are especially meaningful… meaningful in assurance and accountability.
The assurance that His heart beat for me, in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love, is a Divine gift! He had and has valid complaints against me. Yet, I can’t begin to recount the number of times His heart has beat again and again in each of those ways FOR ME! And not one heartbeat was deserved, before or after I was saved. Can you identify with me?
SO in accountability, my prayer for us is, “Dear Jesus, may Your heartbeats of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience pulse through our lives and ministry! As we may have a complaint against ANYONE, just as You have forgiven us so also should we.” Amen.
And beyond this, put on a heart of LOVE, the perfect bond of unity, our hearts in perfect sync with His. Question… How’s your heart’s rhythm?
