Grace Strong

”But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.“ Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬-‭21‬

As a young pastor, God mentored me through the wisdom of a loving father. He always had time to give me a listening ear and an encouraging word. These two verses in Jude verify one of dad’s most important pieces of advice… “Michael, more times than not, to have a spiritually healthy church, it requires a spiritually healthy pastor.”

There isn’t a better spiritual contractor or material to build up a ministry leader, on his most holy faith, than the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. My dad’s practice was my template… he encouraged me to use a wide variety of devotional readings and prayer, together with yearly, through-the-Bible reading plans. “Michael, watch out for the ruts of routine, a good routine can turn into a bad rut!” Daily I have kept focused on the foundation of God’s love, as I have waited anxiously for the mercy of Jesus to eternal life.

May our faith be ‘grace strong’! Praying for you.
