Lift the Cross

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬

This quote from Pr. Robert Jeffress reveals the foolish reasons the world rejects the Gospel, “Unbelievers reject the gospel because they are offended by it. They reject the gospel because it implies the existence of a God to whom we are accountable, it assumes the sinfulness of man, and it rejects self-effort to atone for our sin. That’s why the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing.” 

In unashamed love, we must usher them to the foot of Cross… “When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of Glory died, my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.” (Isaac Watts) “In the cross of Christ I glory, tow’ring o’er the wrecks of time; all the light of sacred story gathers round its head sublime.” (John Bowring)

In the midst of the world’s increasing foolishness, keep lifting high the wondrous Cross of Christ, imploring boys and girls, men and women to look to Jesus and the saving power of the Gospel.
