Loveless?

“Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?” Jonah‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬

I can easily identify with Jonah. From time to time, my stubbornness, pride, and judgmental spirit have been a ‘whale’ of a problem. And like Jonah, even after being rescued, lingering anger has exposed my loveless heart.

To be more concerned about a plant’s comforting shade, than the eternal souls of the lost, is tragic? A judgmental spirit, self-will, and convenience undermine ministry and grieve God’s heart. May the Lord’s “Should I not have compassion on Nineveh…” bring me to my senses. If you identify with me, pray, “Lord, have mercy on me, fill my heart with Your loving compassion for the souls of the lost. Amen.

*I’m thankful, while God strives with us, He uses conflicted servants like Jonah and me to further His Kingdom work.
