My Tonto

“Only Luke is with me. Pick up Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬

My dad and I both loved Westerns. I still do. Even before the TV show, Lone Ranger radio episodes were a weekly highlight. They were riveting! Thus, it wasn’t a surprise, when my dad offered this mentoring advice… “Michael, don’t be a ‘lone’, Lone Ranger. Like him you need a Tonto.” He was right and I’m glad I listened.

Paul’s request in 2 Timothy 4 reveals the value God places on partners in ministry. Luke’s presence with Paul and Mark’s usefulness to Paul was strengthening. Whether I’ve been a ‘Tonto’ or strengthened by a ‘Tonto’, serving together has increased the effectiveness of God’s Kingdom work! As I’ve said before, “We are stronger together!”

Praying for you!
