Shepherds

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” Acts 20:28

It might seem a little odd to some, but God has called a sheep to be a shepherd of sheep. Over the years, my father kindly reminded me of this truth…. those we serve were bought at a great price and need a healthy sheep to be their shepherd. Therefore, what I preached to the flock was also good for me to heed… practicing what I preached.

Make sense? The Holy Spirit made you an overseer. He didn’t make a mistake in calling you. He’s gifted you. He wants you to be as spiritually healthy as possible… being on guard for yourself is of first importance. An ‘on guard’ ministry leader, shepherding by Word and example, is God’s gift to the Flock!
