Wise Use of Time
“I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,” Philemon 1:4.
Every once in a while someone will ask if my ‘Dear Brother’ devotionals are in a group text form. Though it would be a more efficient use of time, sending them individually has deepened my prayer life. The individual ‘sending’ is meant to be a horizontal encouragement to my brothers coupled with a vertical intercession on their behalf.
Throughout the epistles of Paul, he’s either requesting prayer or he’s offering prayer. Even as he helps his brothers in Christ, Philemon and Onesimus, reconcile, prayer set the tone. Examples like this speak volumes to my heart and Shepherding’s ministry.
When I think of all, who have upheld me in prayer, I count it a privilege to join those praying for you. The importance of your place of service is sobering. I guess, in case like this, saving time isn’t that important after all! In fact, time spent in prayer is time well spent… a valuable investment.
