Workmanship
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Ephesians 2:8,9 are hallmark verses of God’s glorious work of salvation. Over the years, they have received much deserved attention. But don’t miss the powerful truths contained in verse 10. God wants to use them to strengthen your assurance.
We are His workmanship. He designed us. He created us for good works. He wants us to confidently walk in them. I had the privilege of following a pastor, who in my estimation was one of the greatest evangelists and caregivers I’ve ever known. A friend said to me,”You’ve got some awfully big shoes to fill.” In assurance of God’s call, I said, “He told me he took all his shoes with him!” By the way, because the former pastor had ministered so humbly and faithfully, the flock he served highly esteemed the office of the pastor. In love they didn’t compare us. Instead, the same respect they had shown him, they graciously showed me.
You are His workmanship. The God, Who created you, redeemed you, and called you desires to use you. In ‘shoes of faith’, confidently ‘walk’ into your place of service and by grace do the good works He has prepared for you.
Praying for you.
